Barangay Ginebra San Miguel tries to get back its winning ways when in battles dangerous Barako Bull in PLDT Home DSL Philippine Cup action on Sunday at SMART-Araneta Coliseum.

Ginebra and Barako Bull do battle at 5:15 p.m. after the curtain-raiser between Alaska and GlobalPort.

The Gin Kings (9-2) remain on top of the standings, but are coming off a tough defeat to the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers in last Sunday’s Manila Clasico. They remain a half-game ahead of Petron and Rain or Shine in the standings.

They will be taking on a Barako Bull team that has been on a bit of a roll, having won three of their last four games.

Ginebra, which lost its rebounding battle against the Mixers despite featuring Greg Slaughter and Japeth Aguilar in the lineup, will have to step up its effort off the boards against a Barako Bull (5-7) side that features rejuvenated veteran center Dorian Pena.

In the first game, two struggling teams will try to end their skids and salvage their campaigns to make the playoffs of the tournament.

Both teams are tied for eighth and ninth places with identical 4-8 records.

Alaska has lost its last two assignments, including a heated match against Meralco last Friday.

GlobalPort, on the other hand, is on an even bigger slide, having lost five straight games.
